Pallet Manufacturing Method and Machinery Using Recycled Plastic Materials

A procedure and device enable plastic lumber to be joined to form pallets.
As the recycling of plastic continues in the USA, there’s a great demand for the higher utilisation of recycled goods. A number of the plastic being recycled is extruded into a product known as plastic lumber, which can be similar in shape and texture to its wood counterpart. Recycled plastic lumber offers many of the very same features as wood with several added benefits.

The pallet industry consumes large quantities of the hardwood and softwood. As the price of wood lumber continues to rise, many sections of this industry are interested in finding an alternative to wood. Plastic lumber, made from post-consumer plastic, is a good alternative. The pallet industry has released injection moulded and thermoformed plastic pallets, but those pallets are made mainly from stainless steel. Most plastic pallets are made using plastic injection moulding procedures, which is extremely pricey. Active Pallets supplies various types of wooden pallets in Sydney. Alternatively, the parts of the binder are fastened using metallic bolts or screws, which present stress points for fracture and failure, and separation difficulties upon recycle. This invention addresses the need for an inexpensive and reliable method of joining plastic lumber to form durable plastic lumber pallets.

The invention consists of the machine for forming plastic lumber pallets from plastic runners and plastic cross members. It comprises 1) a cross-member support for supporting among the pallet cross members, 2) a runner support member of keeping at least one of the runners in basically transverse relation with the cross member, and 3) a hot plate positioned between the cross member and also one of their runners, and heating and melting simultaneously some of the tops of the cross member and a portion of the bottom of the runner.

Moreover, the runner support member is formed so as to keep at least two of the runners spaced apart from each other.  A transverse movement unit moves the hot plate in basically a transverse direction on the cross-member support. A parallel motion unit moves the hot plate in a direction essentially parallel to that together with the cross-member support. Such movement permits the warm plate to be inserted between the runner and cross member and withdrawn when a portion of the runner and cross-member surfaces have been heated to a molten state.

A pressure program member applies pressure to your layered assembly of this warm plate positioned between the cross member and one of the runners during the warm plate heating process in which the warm plate melts simultaneously some of the tops of the cross member and some of the base of the runner. The pressure program member also applies pressure to a meeting of a molten portion of the top of the cross member in touch with a molten section of the bottom of the runner to form the weld or bond between the cross member and also the runner. A vertical motion unit is used to transfer the pressure application member within an up-and-down direction so as to apply pressure to the heating and welding assemblies.

The table is joined with fasteners such as nuts or bolts to get a modular construction, or by welding to get a more durable structure. Welding the table is especially suited for large production runs of pallets of the same size. The machine is particularly successful for making plastic lumber pallets from solid plastic lumber, especially timber produced from recycled plastics.

In comparison to wood pallets, the plastic pallets fabricated within this procedure are tougher, more weather resistant, and also have greater ethics. Further, they have longer field lives and therefore are well acclimated to reuse.
